GPZ z.o.o. is a leading cooperative for Holstein, Simmental and Swiss brown cattle breeders in Slovenia. Established in 2003 by the national breeding organizations and meat breeders, we now serve two major breeding organizations, Holstein and Simmental, which comprise 37 associations with 5,600 cattle breeders nationwide.
Our core mission is to enhance our farms’ competitiveness and economic viability in all aspects.
We listen to our customer’s needs and offer them a range of services, such as:
- Milk trading – we work with many breeders throughout Slovenia and sell our high-quality milk mainly to the dairy industry in Italy, as well as to the domestic market;
- Farm supplies – we provide our customers with agricultural inputs at competitive prices and terms. We expand our product portfolio every year to meet the demands of our breeders. We have established partnerships with many companies from Slovenia, Italy, Germany, Austria, France, Spain, Hungary and Croatia;
- Bull semen sales – Our Bull Semen Centre (CBS) has been operating since 2008 and has seen a steady increase in the sales of top-notch bull semen. We mainly offer semen from superior German genetics and, since August 2011, also from Austrian genetics for the spotted breed. Our cattle breeders can use modern genetics to improve their herds and boost their farm productivity;
- Professional magazine – In 2007, we launched Glas dežele, a professional magazine covering various topics related to cattle farming and agriculture. The magazine has a loyal subscriber base, which shows that it is very informative and valuable for our breeders. The magazine is also available online at the web address
